Linthorst Techniek
Fast-growing full-service installer
Linthorst began 40 years ago as a technical installation company with a focus on sustainability. Back then, in the middle of the oil crisis, people began to realise that fossil fuels were finite and Linthorst came up with solutions. Since then, the company has developed into a full-service installation company active in all areas of electrical engineering, including lighting, security and fire alarms. The choice for this broad approach to development is closely aligned to market demand: it is much easier for a client to outsource a complete project to one company because this is much more efficient.
Linthorst Techniek works in utilities (construction, renovation) including offices, recreation (hotels and swimming pools) and care (nursing homes and hospitals). Innovative sustainability and complex, integral, knowledge-intensive projects are the company’s defining characteristics. As a result, Linthorst is primarily active in the top-end segments of the market in ‘design & built’ projects. Linthorst has its own innovations centre, which is continuously working on the design of new products.
“We free almost all our clients from a dependency on gas and substitute an all-electric alternative”, explains Carlos Fischer, Marketing Manager of Linthorst Techniek. In total, about 350 employees are working on these projects. Linthorst is active throughout the whole country but most of the workforce is based in Apeldoorn. Together they generate a turnover of some 50 million euros a year, which is expected to be higher next year, thanks to an annual growth rate of 15% to 20%. Almost all revenue is generated from within the Netherlands although Linthorst Techniek also owns a limited company in Kleve, Germany. It has a good reason. In recent years, thanks to its network, the company has carried out projects in Germany including the construction of a hotel as well as sustainability projects in which residual heat is used to heat offices. So, a future increase in the number of ventures abroad cannot be ruled out.
