GVT Logistics
In 1957, the Versteijnen brothers founded their own transport company. This family business has grown into a large, nationally operating transport business. Today, over 1000 staff work at GVT and about 375 vehicles take to the roads every day. GVT has a storage capacity of about 200,000 m2 in their in-house warehouses.
The site in Apeldoorn has a long transportation history. What once started out as logistics company Henk van de Scheur has through acquisition grown into an important strategic hub for GVT. From Apeldoorn, 70 chauffeurs ride over 65 routes through the Benelux day and night across the company’s finely meshed distribution network with over 6,000 addresses. At the office, the 10-man professional team ensures that everything runs smoothly in terms of scheduling and logistics support. GVT has significantly invested in IT, ensuring that smaller shipments (courier and other specialised services) can easily be incorporated into the routes for next-day deliveries with high delivery performance. The state-of-the-art IT solutions ensure fast delivery and provide real-time insight into the savings that customers make.
The transportation of goods is mostly focused on deliveries in the Benelux. The 10,000 m2 cross-dock warehouse in Apeldoorn, which is primarily used for cross-docking operations, is also used by customers from Germany, Sweden and the southern European countries. From Apeldoorn, their goods are supplied quickly to the Benelux market. GVT’s customers are highly diverse with a focus on larger manufacturers and trading companies. Every customer has a fixed point of contact at GVT to ensure direct communications and a high level of customer satisfaction. The business aims to maintain a high level of performance and expand wherever opportunities arise in the years to come. Continued growth is the logical next step.
