Vika Winkelinrichtingen
Vika Winkelinrichtingen is a third-generation family business in Apeldoorn. Director Gert Visch’ grandfather founded the business, initially a trading company in radiators. Since 2006, the company is entirely focused on providing all-in-one solutions for shop and project interiors. This process generally starts with making a design and drawing up technical specifications. The materials are then purchased or produced in-house, and the interior is assembled on-site. Each year, the company furnishes many new shops and refurbishes shop departments. This varies from the small local business across the street to large national retail chains such as Gamma, Karwei, Expert, Mediamarkt, Boni supermarkets, Top1Toys and many others.
Their subsidiary, Wecare International BV, provides turn-key solutions for opticians and jewellers and healthcare-related organisations (nursing homes, pharmacies and GP practices). Besides designing and producing a complete shop interior with floors, lighting, furniture and signage, Wecare also takes care of the breakdown of existing shop interiors.
Creating shop interiors is ‘people business’. Committed and professional staff translate the customer’s wishes and needs into creative and sustainable interiors that are attractive and an enjoyable work environment. The design and the implementation should be closely linked to the brand to ensure increased sales. In addition to award-winning designs in the optician sector, Vika was awarded an international prize in 2018 for their design and realisation of Mediamarkt’s pilot store in Eindhoven. During the Retail Week Awards in London, this pilot store was awarded the title of ‘best next generations store’.
The strength of the business not only lies in being able to offer a complete solution and an attractive design. The process behind it is just as critical. Cost-efficient processes, a flexible attitude and short lines of communication all contribute to the company’s success. One prime example of where all these disciplines came together was the renovation of the paint departments at Gamma builders’ merchant shops. This had to happen at night, and so the core team of 26 permanent staff was temporarily expanded to 60 professionals. They were divided into four teams to disassemble and reconstruct four paint departments, a logistical challenge that took five weeks to complete.
Vika Winkelinrichtingen is proud of its long-term and growing collaborations with its customers. Most customers are located in the Netherlands, but shops and projects are also being constructed in the surrounding countries. In terms of future plans, Vika would also like to service the non-profit market. In 2020, Vika furnished two libraries and would like to continue along these lines. Their aim is to expand their portfolio to include schools, hospitals and other government agencies in the coming years.
Export countries: Belgium & Germany
