Algera
Algéra Transport dates back to 1991, when founders Alie and Gerrit Rattink took the step to start their own business and purchased Algéra’s first truck. Operating initially on a charter basis, the company expanded steadily but cautiously. In 1996, in addition to transport, the company added storage and warehousing when they moved into a building on Aalbosweg in Vaassen. On January 1, 2006, Ronnie Rattink took over the business from his parents. Due to increasing numbers in both trucks and storage capacity, the location on Aalbosweg in Vaassen eventually became too small. By the end of 2015, Algéra Transport had moved into its current premises on Papegaaiweg in Wenum Wiesel.
Modern Fleet
Today, Algéra Transport has almost thirty trucks, mostly equipped with environmentally friendly Euro 6 engines. The transports vary greatly: from large to small batches and from partial to group loads. Special dimensions of goods to be transported are no problem – Algéra Transport finds a solution for every load. On their own premises, they also have a workshop where the bulk of all maintenance work takes place, allowing the company to operate with optimum flexibility.
Specialist in Switzerland
In addition to daily routes in Benelux, Germany and France, transport to and from Switzerland is a specialty of the company. Road transport in Switzerland sometimes presents pitfalls and obstacles that do not exist in other countries, for example, the complicated and sometimes inscrutable customs formalities that every transport company in Switzerland has to deal with. Algéra knows how it works and how to handle the system as quickly and efficiently as possible. The sometimes harsh weather conditions also require specific expertise and craftsmanship from the drivers, but Algéra has employees with ample experience in this regard.
Loading and Storage
The company building in Wenum Wiesel offers various storage possibilities. In the warehouse, with a capacity of more than 15,000 pallets, the eight permanent employees ensure that all goods are prepared for shipping and also offer various forms of value-added services.
Growth
Due to customer focus, doing a good job, and keeping promises, the company has grown steadily since its inception. Algéra Transport expects this to continue in the coming years.
