Wiejelo

Wiejelo was established in 2000 by Jacques van de Meerakker. At the time, he was working in Indonesia with lubricating systems for all kinds of machines. He saw a market opportunity in using automated lubrication to reduce machine downtime and make lubricating maintenance more cost-effective. Today, the Wiejelo label is comprised of two subsidiaries: Wiejelo Industrial and Wiejelo Equipment. The companies under the Wiejelo label have developed into global players in automated lubrication and fire-extinguishing systems for on- and offroad machines, buses, port equipment, heavy industry, machine-tooling industry, the food, feed and agricultural industries, technical spaces, switch boxes and offshore applications.

Wiejelo’s main strength lies in its customer-oriented focus: what is the customer’s primary process, and how can Wiejelo contribute to reducing the downtime, risks and costs of maintenance and insurance? The delivered solutions are mostly custom-made and are supplied across the globe. The entire design, development, delivery, assembly and maintenance of automated lubricating systems and fire-extinguishing systems is carried out under one roof.

Sustainability

Wiejelo strives to apply sustainable solutions to its systems. Because most machine and automative lubricants are harmful to the environment, Wiejelo has tried to find alternative solutions. And that solution is the in-house developed Wiejelo Greenline. This is a lubricating system that has been specifically adapted to pump biodegradable lubricants. Moreover, the system has a customised fluid coupling system to ensure that the biodegradable fluid doesn’t mix with other standard lubricants. This lubricant has the same beneficial lubricating properties as regular EP2 lubricants.

The future

The Apeldoorn site has 25 employees and continues to grow rapidly. This is also the case in the overseas locations that have been established in Norway, Indonesia and the US. These offices work together with local partners to approach the market.  Wiejelo Norway is proud of its collaboration with Hydro, one of the largest producers of aluminium in the world. Wiejelo made a fire hazard risk assessment for their special vehicles that carry liquid aluminium and designed and implemented a customised automated fire-extinguishing system for those vehicles. Wiejelo expects to continue to grow in the countries in which it is active. Moreover, the business is exploring business opportunities in South America.

Export countries: Europe, Africa, USA and Indonesia
